Athena Design's Integer[tm] Integrated with SuperCede Java Development Environment
SuperCede 2.0 will include powerful spreadsheet component as JavaBean[tm]

SEATTLE - November 11, 1997 - SuperCede, Inc., a leading developer of interactive software development tools for Java® applications, today announced that Athena Design's Integer spreadsheet component will be integrated into the upcoming release of SuperCede® 2.0.

"We are very excited that a lite version of Integer is being bundled with SuperCede," said David Pollak, president of Athena Design. "This will give developers exposure to a powerful real-time spreadsheet in SuperCede's rich development environment."

Athena Design's Integer offers the most complete Java component to corporate developers who need to create powerful applications with spreadsheet capabilities. Integer offers access to real-time feeds and JDBC databases and includes the ability to import and export legacy data. Integer contains over 300 formula functions and supports millions of rows, thousands of columns and hundreds of layers of data. Integer is a JavaBean[tm] that will easily integrate into custom applications to provide all the power of leading desktop spreadsheets in a Java component.

SuperCede 2.0 addresses the needs of corporate Java developers with JDK 1.1 and JavaBeans support, as well as ease of use and functionality that takes applications to a higher level of interactivity.

SuperCede 2.0 provides the industry's most complete support for database development in Java, with drag and drop construction of Java database applications and two implementations of JDBC for connectivity to all popular database systems. SuperCede is also the only Java development environment to support integration with legacy systems through seamless interoperability with C++ and ActiveX[tm]. SuperCede is the first Java development environment that allows programmers to change an application as it runs, instantly seeing the impact of the change. This interactivity, enabled by SuperCede's patented Flash Compiler[tm] technology, delivers a three to five-fold boost in productivity

"From its inception, SuperCede, Inc., has looked to leading technology partners to help us create what is the most powerful tool on the market for developers building real applications in Java," said Peter Kellogg-Smith, director of product management at SuperCede. "We are very excited to be able to include a product as innovative as Integer in SuperCede's interactive development environment. With Integer as part of SuperCede 2.0, developers will be able to build sophisticated Java applications with advanced spreadsheet capabilities."
