About Integer

Integer is a high performance, scalable, real time, collaborative spreadsheet server.  It enables users to collaborate on spreadsheets in real-time, access huge spreadsheets in record time and calculate real-time data from multiple sources over Intranets, Extranets, and the Internet.

Integer includes a spreadsheet GUI front-end.  The spreadsheet GUI is a JavaBean that provides all the functionality of a fast, powerful grid control.  Integer can be used with popular JavaBean tools including Visual Cafe and Inprise's JBuilder.  Integer's GUI front end is connected to the spreadsheet server.

Integer provides a spreadsheet engine backend:

• The engine supports multiple real time data feeds from any source including Reuters, financial markets, medical instruments, and more.
• The spreadsheet engine has over 350 formula functions and all the calculation power of leading desktop spreadsheets. Plus, you can add your own formula functions from custom analytics libraries.
• Integer allows objects in spreadsheet cells. Represent complex securities or currency objects in any cell in the spreadsheet and use formulas to calculate based on these objects.
• The engine will import and export Excel and 1-2-3 worksheets so that you can build applications that interact with the current legacy desktop spreadsheets.
• The engine will query data via JDBC from databases including enterprise data warehouses.
  

Since the spreadsheet engine is completely separate from the GUI, Integer's GUI can run on a different computer than the engine.  This distributed capability allows you to build powerful, collaborative applications. Users can access the same Integer spreadsheet simultaneously, view the contents, make changes, and instantly view the changes others are making.
