Trusted by 3,000+ founders and executives, find your Customer Service Assistant
I waited way too long to hire my EA. I wasn’t sure I had enough to delegate, wasn’t sure it would be worth it, and didn’t really know where to start. But Ida paid for herself within the first few months and I’ve never looked back.

Security & trust
The same protection behind every Customer Service Assistant
Your assistant works inside your help desk, support inbox, and phone line. The infrastructure around that access is ours to secure.
Athena employed and vetted
Every Customer Service Assistant is a full-time Athena employee: background-checked, identity verified, and trained on fraud awareness. Not a contractor.
Managed devices and scoped access
Athena-issued, IT-managed devices with remote-wipe capability. Your assistant only sees the customer data, tickets, and order tools their role needs, and access is audited routinely.
Proactive threat monitoring
Real-time monitoring for suspicious activity, a security response team on call, and prompt alerts if phishing is detected.
SOC 2 Type II
SOC 2 Type II certified, a cyberinsurance policy per client and an on-call remediation team behind it.
Not quite what you need?
Looking for broader support, not just customer service?
If customer support is only part of what's piling up, an Executive Assistant covers the rest too: calendar, inbox, projects, and everything in between.
I left my wife's ski boots in an airport. Suddenly my EA is in contact with the airport, five couriers, and the airline. She's telling me five prices for different ways to fix it. I'm like, how has she done this already!?

Athena has playbooks that make it feel like starting from first or second base instead of home plate. They bring best-in-class ways of doing things.

We made $200,000 more last year, and I would say that that's a direct result of having Joanne as my EA.

My Athena EA’s written English is equal to a native speaker. From the first week I had total confidence that she could adeptly answer my emails, as me, without a second thought.

FAQ
What does a customer service virtual assistant do?
A customer service virtual assistant answers your customers on email, chat, and phone, and keeps every request tracked until it's resolved. At Athena, that means one dedicated person who handles your support inbox, help desk tickets, order and refund questions, and help center updates. You set the policies and tone. They handle the daily volume.
How is this different from a freelancer or an outsourced call center?
You get one dedicated person who learns your product, not a rotating pool of agents reading from a script. Freelancers often juggle several clients, and call centers share agents across many accounts. Your Customer Service Assistant works only with you, is managed by Athena, and gets better the longer they're with you.
Can they cover support outside my working hours?
Yes. You set their schedule around when your customers need help, not just when you're online. That can mean early mornings, evenings, or weekend shifts, depending on what you need. Your Customer Service Assistant is one full-time person, so they cover the hours you choose rather than all 24.
Why hire a person instead of an AI chatbot?
A chatbot handles the easy questions; a person handles everything else. Upset customers, refund exceptions, and phone calls need judgment a bot doesn't have. Your Customer Service Assistant is trained to use AI tools to draft replies and find answers faster, so you get speed and a real person on the other end.
How fast can they learn my product?
Most of the learning happens in the first few weeks, starting with the questions your customers ask most. During onboarding you share your policies, saved replies, and product basics. Your assistant then builds out FAQs and help center articles as they go, so their knowledge is documented for your business too.
How does Athena select and train them?
We accept the top 1% of 30,000 to 60,000+ monthly applicants. We hire for qualities that are hard to teach, like judgment, resourcefulness, and grit, then train intensively through in-person bootcamps built on real-life scenarios. Each assistant also gets ongoing coaching from a dedicated Athena manager.
How is my data and account access protected?
Athena is SOC 2 Type II certified. Your assistant works on an Athena-issued secured device with proactive threat monitoring and remote wipe. Every assistant passes identity verification and background checks before they're hired.
What if the fit isn't right?
We'll rematch you. Athena manages your assistant's performance and stays involved after onboarding. If the partnership isn't working, or your assistant needs extended time off, we step in so your customers aren't left waiting.
