You're spending hours every week on bookkeeping someone else should handle.

Trusted by 3,000+ founders and executives, find your Bookkeeping Assistant
I waited way too long to hire my EA. I wasn’t sure I had enough to delegate, wasn’t sure it would be worth it, and didn’t really know where to start. But Ida paid for herself within the first few months and I’ve never looked back.

Testimonials

See how real leaders multiply their impact

I left my wife's ski boots in an airport. Suddenly my EA is  in contact with the airport, five couriers, and the airline. She's telling me five prices for different ways to fix it. I'm like, how has she done this already!?
Joey Garcia
Executive Director, Finance Industry
Athena has playbooks that make it feel like starting from first or second base instead of home plate. They bring best-in-class ways of doing things.

We made $200,000 more last year, and I would say that that's a direct result of having Joanne as my EA.
Jacob Tingen
Managing Partner, Tingen Law
My Athena EA’s written English is equal to a native speaker. From the first week I had total confidence that she could adeptly answer my emails, as me, without a second thought.

FAQ

What does a bookkeeping assistant do?
A bookkeeping assistant handles the recurring work behind your books: recording transactions, reconciling accounts, managing bills and invoices, supporting payroll, and preparing monthly reports. At Athena, that's one full-time, dedicated person, not a per-task contractor.
Will this replace my accountant or CPA?
No. Your Bookkeeping Assistant handles the day-to-day work, and your CPA keeps handling tax filing, planning, and advice. Clean, current books also mean your CPA spends less time (and fewer billable hours) sorting things out.
Which software do they work in?
Your Bookkeeping Assistant works in the tools you already use, including QuickBooks, Xero, Gusto, and ADP. There's no need to switch systems.
Can they move money? What approvals are in place?
Nothing goes out without your sign-off. Your assistant prepares payroll and schedules vendor payments, and you approve them before anything is sent. You decide which accounts they can access and at what level.
My books are months behind. Can they catch me up?
Yes. Most partnerships with backlogged books start with a cleanup: reconciling past periods, fixing miscategorized transactions, and tracking down missing records. Timing depends on how far behind you are, and once you're current, your assistant keeps things that way.
Is my financial data protected?
Yes. Athena is SOC 2 Type II certified. Every assistant works on an Athena-issued, monitored device with remote-wipe capability, and every client is covered by Athena's cyberinsurance policy.
How is this different from a freelancer or an outsourced bookkeeping service?
A freelancer is yours to vet, train, and manage, and coverage disappears when they do. Outsourced services often spread your books across a rotating team. Your Athena assistant is one dedicated person, employed by Athena and selected from the top 1% of 30,000 to 60,000+ monthly applicants. A partnership manager supports them, and if the fit isn't right, Athena matches you with someone new.
